Things don’t look like they’re panning out too well for Bruce Wayne…or, I guess, Ben Affleck in this case. Sorry, I'm always getting them confused these days. In the newly released trailer for David Fincher’s upcoming thriller, based on the best-selling novel, Gone Girl, Ben seems to be in just a bit of a pickle. After his character Nick Dunne is accused of murdering his missing wife Amy, details unfold that make him the prime suspect.
The first trailer makes me feel slightly more conflicted, but the odds look pretty stacked against him in the second.
I mean, there’s little he has done that hasn’t made his character look like a violent, wife-killer. Let’s take a quick rundown of the trailer compare some moments that could be read as guilty or innocent.
(Disclaimer: I still haven't read the book, so for now all of this is just ridiculous, unfounded speculation based on what we can see in the trailer.)
What do you think of this face?
Ben/Nick creepily sneaking down a dark hallway?
Rosamund/Amy looking scared and hiding under the covers?
Ben/Nick addressing the public in a press conference for his missing wife?
What about this face?
How about this shot of the couple together?
Is this the face of a killer?
Alright, so what do you guys think? Granted, this trailer was clearly edited to be intense as f*ck so we can't say for sure what's going on in each image. Even so, I think it's safe to say that we would all make great detectives. Let's all give ourselves a solid pat on the back and go grab a beer!
[Gone Girl](movie:833123) will play at the New York Film Festival and will hit theaters October 3rd.
