Do me a solid and just press play and bask in the nostalgia. Let it wash over you for the full 43 seconds.
Wasn't that nice? It's a damn shame that Full House hasn't had a new episode in nearly 20 years. I am constantly inconsolable. OH, WAIT! Breaking Full House news (when was the last time you heard that?):
According to TV Guide, a follow-up to the late-'80s/early-'90s classic sitcom might be in the works! Yup. You heard me. Even though you're not supposed to shoot the messenger, you're more than welcome to send me a thank-you card or a mini-muffin basket for bringing you this fantastic news!
This reboot, much like the freshly aired Girl Meets World, might even feature a lot of the original cast. From what we've heard, the project is pretty much being organized by John Stamos, with the help of executive producer Bob Boyett, and creator Jeff Franklin.
So what has the Full House gang been up to during the past 20 years? And which members of the Tanner clan are rumored to be returning to the show?
Well, let's run down the list:
John Stamos (Uncle Jesse)
I really don't know how John Stamos has managed to look this good for this long. Is he a god? A robot? Who cares?! Since Full House ended John has had a couple of reoccurring roles in shows like E.R. and Glee. He also performed on Broadway and can still shred like it's the '90s with his F.H. band Jesse And The Rippers.
Bob Saget (Danny Tanner)
Saget has been on a number of TV shows (Raising Dad, Entourage) and, of course, was the narrator for How I Met Your Mother as the older version of Ted.
Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone)
Coulier has mainly been focusing on his standup comedsy career since Full House. Good to know that his on- and off-screen personalities are equally as funny!
Candace Cameron-Bure (D.J. Tanner)
Cameron-Bure still acts and has had roles in shows like Make It Or Break It and in multiple Hallmark movies. She has been married to hockey player Valeri Bure since 1996 and is the mother of three beautiful children.
Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner)
Sweetin definitely struggled in her post-Full House days. In 2009, she wrote a book unSweetined which outlined her battle with methamphetamine addiction. Today she seems to be doing much better. She will play Charlotte Disney in the upcoming movie Walt Before Mickey, now in post-production, and has two children.
Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler)
Barber also has a family and, if her Instagram account is accurate, she is still close friends with Candace! How awesome is that?
Now who are we still missing from the mix? Well, for starters...
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (who split the role of Michelle Tanner)
Well, we kind of know what these two have been up to. Following Full House, Mary-Kate and Ashley went on to basically create an empire. They starred in many movies that I am not ashamed to say I watched a fair portion of at the slumber parties of my youth. After dropping out of NYU, the twins have gone on to pursue careers in fashion and the occasional TV role.
Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky)
Lori has been very busy! She could be seen in starring roles on Summerland and 90201. Unfortunately, she might be the only F.H. star who has spoken out about a possible reunion show being difficult. "If it were a really good script and a great project, but sometimes I think that it's better off to leave those TV shows as they were and not do reunion shows."
C'mon, Aunt Becky! We promise the script and project will be amazing!
Scott Weinger (Steve Hale)
Holy crap! Did you guys know that Steve (real name Scott Weinger) went to Harvard?! Well, he did! Since Full House he has gone from being in front of the camera to behind it, becoming a writer and producer for shows like What I Like About You, Privileged, 90210 and The Neighbors. And even though this was before F.H. ended, I still like to be reminded from time to time that he was the speaking voice in Disney's Aladdin. Good times.
And by popular demand here's some information on Nicky and Alex, a.k.a. Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit
This had been excluded from the article initially because it pains me to write it. Unfortunately, the darling Katsopolis children will most likely not be involved in any future Full House projects. Let's organize a group hug about it soon, because this news deeply saddens me. From what I've learnt, the boys have both stopped acting and remember little of filming the show. They also don't keep in touch with their on-screen father, John Stamos *internally weeping*. Maybe we can start a Twitter campaign to reunite the boys with their TV parents?
As I was one of the many children who felt like they grew up with the Tanners, I would love to be able to catch up on their lives a bit. I oftentimes find myself wondering what they're up to these days — then the honking snaps me out of it, I realize that I've been sitting at a green light for three minutes and I am forced back into the real world.
It is difficult to imagine exactly what the show will look like, but that's the beauty of it! There are so many angles that they could go with in recreating their storylines. Danny as a grandpa? D.J. as a college professor? Kimmy as a famous fashion designer? Why not! The possibilities are endless! With all the unrest in the world, I think that this is just something that we all might need.
No promises yet though. Keep your fingers crossed!
