The Disney Princesses may be some of the most recognisable royals in the world, alongside Helen Mirren and Pippa Middleton's bottom.

From Frozen's Anna to Pocahontas, Mulan and Cinderella, the princesses are increasingly diverse bunch, and their tales of woe and badassery (seriously, Mulan was a boss) are an inspiration to girls everywhere.

Recently they've been getting makeovers from fans all over, from their real life counterparts to their way more awesome feminist reincarnations.

Now it's the turn of illustration studio Seventy-Two, whose awesome designs look to put a new spin on the old stories:

Theme: Disney Characters
Idea: The idea was to revive those beautiful stories from our childhood but with some new ending.
Inspiration: Inspired by art and stories. Wanted to create something different and new.

The designs are incredible, with beautiful colouring and shading. I think Snow White may be my favourite:
