When Batman-News broke the news that actor Scoot McNairy was seen on set wearing green-screened socks, many speculated that he was going to play DC's quickster, Flash. Some even speculated the opposite that he would be playing iconic villain to Superman, Metallo.
Well according to a website The Devils Eyes, they claim to have received some information from an extra on set, that Scoot McNairy is playing the role of - another speculation - a civilian who has lost his legs during the huge, climactic, devastating fight with Superman and Zod at the end of Man of Steel.
Here's where it gets interesting. They say that not only is he a regular citizen, but that he is an established role in the DCU.
"Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen, but with a bit of a twist. Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs Superman. His legs where pinned under falling building rubble and that caused him to lose the legs. He now walks with the use of two prosthetic legs." The source goes on to add "He doesn't blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. He feels grateful that Superman saved the world."
Isn't that some ish? So, maybe it might be a downer for some, but I'm actually liking this idea. It would make the most sense and the most plausible. Afterall, the character Jimmy Olsen, who is a fixed and prominent role in the DC comics, was absent in that film. So it would make sense that they would try to introduce him now. Especially since Clark Kent is permanently at The Daily Bugle!
Now, you can take this with a fat grain of salt, (I've never even heard of this site) but if it is true how do you guys feel about this news? Stay tuned! Things will get more juicy...
