Gears Of War 4 was one of the few high profile games not to make an appearance at either this year's E3 or Gamescom 2014, and gamers are keener than ever on learning new details about the game.
Ever since Microsoft bought Gears of War from Epic studios in Janurary of this year, there has been speculation on the director Microsoft and Black Tusk studios will take with this game - but what are the main questions hanign over Gears of War 4?
Marcus Fenix and The Locust: Gone For Good?
Gears of War 3 ended with Marcus Fenix delivering the killer blow to the Locust, killing Queen Myrrah and ending the threat they posed. So does that mean Gears of War 4 will give us a new setting, and a new main character?
Some fans have argued that Gears 4 should get away from Sera entirely and allow us to explore the far reaches of the Gears of War universe, in the same way that Halo looks to be doing in Halo 5 Guardians.
But is this something you'd like to see?
Microsoft and Black Tusk: Back to Basics?
Gears of War was widely thought to have lost its way somewhat with Gears of War: Judgement, and fans are wondering whether the movie to Black Tusk will be a return to the roots of Gears of War, or if they will go further down the road started by Judgement.
One thing that annoyed fans in particular in Gears of War Judgement were the micro-transactions. Should there be any in a game that is not free-to-play? Or, as they did not impact the gameplay as such, was this a legitimate addition to the game for those that wanted it?
It might not seem like much, but by addressing points like this Microsoft and Black Tusk can signal whether they want to return Gears of War to the heart of the Xbox playing experience, or simply milk their fans for all they are worth.
Ultimately, to find out where Microsoft are going to take Gears of War 4 we will have to wait for the reveals coming (possibly) at next year's E3 and Gamescom events.
Until then, fans will have to make do by imagining what Gears of War 4 will be like.
