The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick will return to the police force when she appears in two episodes of the new season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Sedgwick, whose first episode will air October 5, will play Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch, who shares a history with Captain Holt (Andre Braugher).
"Kyra brings so much presence and gravitas to the role — exactly the traits needed to stand off against Andre Braugher. And she pitched one of the funniest flashbacks that we've ever done!"
... says executive producer Dan Goor.
Ed Helm, from The Office and Hangover, will also make his way to Brooklyn Nine-Nine to play an agent working for the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) whom Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) struggles with in order to work a case.
Currently Helms is only scheduled to appear in the seventh episode of the second season, airing November 16, but according to co-creator and executive producer Dan Goor, he could always return.
"But anybody who enters this world can come back, [Co-creator and executive producer] Mike Schur and I know Ed from The Office and The Daily Show, so he'll be great and hopefully he'll have fun and be back."
Season 2 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will air Sunday, September 28 on Fox.
