Th baddest vampire hunter to hit the big screen is set to return - with the actor that made him a household name!

"The New York Daily News" is reporting that Wesley Snipes is set to reprise his lead role in “Blade,” the 1998 vampire thriller that made more than $130 million, generated two sequels and was the first successful Marvel movie franchise.

According to "The New York Daily News":

"Sources close to Snipes tells us the 52-year-old actor’s comeback after being released from prison in April 2013 (after serving two and a half years for tax evasion) is “looking good” and that he’ll make $3 million from this film, plus a cut of the profits. Let’s hope he remembers to pay Uncle Sam this time."

This is absolutely AWESOME news! I have no cause to doubt it's veracity, because if things were less than certain, leaking this information would be a sure way to blow a deal.

Besides, Marvel Studios and Snipes need each other. Marvel obviously wants to diversify the genres it showcases on the big screen. Horror is one of those. What better way than to bring back the character and star that have proven successful before.

For Snipes, he is in need of a Downey-ian shot in the arm regarding his career, especially since "Expendables 3", through no fault of his, is hardly going to be the film that makes him a star again after his hiatus.

But to reprise the most iconic role of his career, with the full marketing muscle of Disney and production values and track record of Marvel Studios? Snipes couldn't ask for a better opportunity.

What do all of you think?
