So I've noticed that there has been a lot of talk going around of Captain America forming his own team after the events of Age of Ultron and that could make sense. Now somebody already wrote an article like this that is very similar to what I'm going to be writing about, and that article was great, but I'm gonna try to go a little bit more in depth.
So there is a registration where all superheroes must agree to fight and protect under the laws of the government. Iron Man is Pro-Registration having guilt for creating Ultron and all the destruction he has caused. While we have Captain America who's Anti-Registration seeing the problem when we let one force take control of everything. (Cap 2)
Now sadly we won't see the X-Men, Spider-Man, or even the FF make an appearance but we sure as hell of a lot of other characters to introduce. Cap and Iron Man each form there teams:
Captain America: Anti Registration Team (Secret Avengers)
Iron Man: Pro-Registration Team (Mighty Avengers)
Ok now that would be the main lineup of the 2 opposing teams. And as you can see, the house is divided. (Also, I think it might be Thor who dies in Age of Ultron sadly, and if not, then he left to protect the other nine realms) Ok now what I found so fascinating about the Civil War storyline was that it turned friends and family to foes. And that's something we need to see in a Civil War film. (Also Hank Pym isn't a superhero but he is anti-registration and he is the brain power against Stark and Banner, aiding Cap and his team)
So first up, we noticed that Bucky comes back and fights alongside Cap like the comics, same thing with Falcon and Widow. But hold up. Widow and Hawkeye are now in opposing teams. That's right, these 2 love birds have different views on how they should protect the world and that adds for a kick ass fight scene. Then we have Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Yes Quicksilver believes that he shouldn't work for a force that is above him and joins Cap's team while the Scarlet Witch power is unpredictable, she would rather be seen as someone people to trust, so that she may learn to control her powers for the greater good.
We move on to the Defenders line up where we have Daredevil and Luke Cage agreeing with Cap that they shouldn't trust a government that forces security and takes away our freedom. While Jessica Jones and Iron Fist side with Iron Man seeing the damage they can cause, thinking that it is better to have 1 power, making sure to stop threats before they even happen.
I also added Black Panther who is Anti-Registration because he doesn't answer a government that isn't of his home. While Carol Danvers becomes the faces of the Pro-Registration. Good looks, former military, and now superhero, she will make the public feel safe.
Now it's also common for members to switch sides, like Quicksilver joins Iron Man so he won't fight his sister anymore. Or Jessica Jones to Cap's team because her love for Luke Cage is stronger than any law. And it could be done with other characters as well. Those are just naming a few.
Now Vision would be interesting, Vision is the one character who does not want to fight. After seeing the destruction caused by Ultron, Vision wants to stay away from the war as possible, but he is all in a way the olive branch tree, trying to bring peace to all the heroes.
Now the thing about Iron Man's Pro-Registration group is that they like to play DIRTY. The Pro-Registration recruits Marvel's very own villains to fight the cause. So we might see...
And many other villains who are still alive in the MCU. (Agents of Shield counts) Absorbing Man, perhaps?
These 2 teams collide in an epic war, but it's Doctor Strange, Adam Warlock and even Vision who breaks them up to warn them of a bigger threat... THANOS!
And that's my pitch, that ain't a bad idea if you ask me, but I'm no screenwriter... Yet. Haha so let me know what you think.
And FYI, I am Anti-Registration.
