Star Wars: Episode 7 has already snapped up one Game of Thrones star who knows their way around a broadsword in the form of Gwendoline Christie, but now it looks like they've got another.

According to BBC News, Mitlos Yerolemou, who is best known for playing the First Sword of Braavos Syrio Forel in the HBO fantasy drama, has reportedly got himself a role in [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158).

Who Is Syrio?

In Game of Thrones, Syrio was entrusted with providing Arya with some introductory weapon training, training which has certainly come in handy in her later encounters. Now speculation is running rife that he might be trading in his training swords for something a bit more lightsabery.

His role is only expected to be a minor one, but considering Yerolemou's skill at sword and stage fighting, surely we will get to see him locking 'blades' in a galaxy far far away? Indeed, the internet has already got together to show us what this might look like:

But what kind of role could he be playing? Well, let's partake in some idle speculation!

Jedi Trainer

Now, clearly we haven't been able to get Yerolemou's performance as Syrio out of our heads, because it's easy to imagine him taking on a similar role in Star Wars: Episode VII. With the story reportedly involving a new generation of Jedi Knights, presumably those newbies are going to need to be trained by someone. Who else than the guy who turned Arya Stark into a merciless Lannister-killing badass? Obi Wan Kenobi would be a tough act to follow, but I can certainly see Yerolemou providing some lightsaber tuition.

Sith Sub-Boss

Of course, these sword-whirling skills do not necessarily need to be used for the good side of the force, while the fact his role is a small one could be an indication that he isn't expecting to hang around on this mortal coil for long.

Could this mean he's a Sith sub-boss who could provide a kinetic and heart-pounding mid-movie action scene? Someone for our trainee Jedis to dispatch on their way up the Sith-killing career ladder?

It should be noted that LucasFilm has previously made use of stunt and sword-fighting experts to portray action heavy Sith roles, such as the casting of Ray Park to play Darth Maul. He'd definitely give us a fight scene to remember.

Mos Eisley Cantina Alien Patron

But maybe we're reading too much into the whole 'sword-fighting' thing? Syrio was such a popular character, not just because he looked pretty great swinging a blade around, but also because Yerolemou imbued him with an immediate personality and warmth. With this mind I can also see him taking on a small, but standout role, as a troublesome bar patron in the Mos Eisley cantina. The Greek Cypriot certainly showed he can play charismatic characters, while his diminutive physique (he is only 5' 3") means he could be made up into a short - but feisty - alien boozer.
