Board up your windows, stockpile herbs and load up on guns because once again the hordes of Resident Evil Revelations are coming, and this time they're invading consoles.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 recently debuted its first concept trailer at a conference held in the run-up to this year's Tokyo Game Show 2014. As well as showing off the live-action teaser, Capcom also confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations 2 would be arriving on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2015.
From what we can gather the sequel to Resident Evil Revelations - which appeared exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS before receiving a later console port - will not be appearing on any Nintendo console. Yeah... sorry about that.
Check out the trailer, which is loaded to the brim with hidden Easter Eggs, below:
This concept teaser trailer portrays the essence of Resident Evil Revelations 2. Hidden secrets beckon to be discovered by anyone with eyes and wits sharp enough to find them.
So, how about we go on an Easter Egg hunt? The internet is still stripping the trailer apart, but there are a few of the bigger clues which hint at the content of the new game.
Perhaps the most obvious Easter Egg is the party-goer wearing a TerraSave T-shirt. Now, TerraSave is a non-governmental organization which appeared in Capcom's CGI movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration. It is particularly important as it is the company for which Resident Evil 2 protagonist, Claire Redfield works for. Could this suggest she'll return for Resident Evil Revelations 2? Or will the game reference the events of the movie?
Is that Rachel?
Another hidden secret could potentially refer to the mysterious figure hanging out in the background. She appears to share an uncanny resemblance to Resident Evil Revelation's Rachel (although she appears to be wearing slightly more appropriate attire). Now, her inclusion could just be a nod to the original game, but it could also suggest she also makes an appearance. Does this therefore mean Revelations 2 is a prequel? Also, notice how she is not wearing one of the infection detecting wristbands. Is that significant?
This one is pretty hard to spot, but it appears there is a reference to the first game hidden in plain sight. If you squint and look extremely closely at the girl clutching the object, you can see that inscribed upon it is what appears to be the words 'Itchy. Tasty'. This is a reference to the Keeper's Diary from the original Resident Evil game - a file which provides a first-hand account of someone undergoing the T-virus infection. The fact the girl's wristband appears to be turning from green to red could suggest she's also undergoing the infection?
So there are three of the major Easter Eggs from the Resident Evil Revelations 2 trailer. I'm almost certain there are additional, perhaps better hidden secrets to be found - especially within the background elements.
Why not scour the trailer and see what else you can find?
