One of the main jokes about 22 Jump Street, the latest comedy from unexpected comedy duo Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, is that they know they are in a sequel. Over and over again, when they are told about their mission, their instructions are: go in there, and do exactly the same thing you did before.
So could Hill and Tatum return for a third movie, or would that kill one of the main jokes of 22 Jump Street?
23 Jump Street: The Trilogy
There is no reason why a third movie wouldn't work, especially if Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, as in the 2nd movie, know that they are being asked to do the same thing for a third time.
They could even discuss the potential pitfalls of the Trilogy: would this outing be a disappointing third act, as with the Godfather movies, or could the third movie potentially be the greatest of them, like with Lord of the Rings?
As fans of the movie will remember, in the first movie, [21 Jump Street](movie:44192), Tatum and Hill infiltrated a school. 22 Jump Street saw them go one step further and go to college - so what would be the plot of any potential third part (surely likely titled 23 Jump Street).
One plot line could be that they are required to become teachers in a school and deal with exactly the sort of over excited, brattish kids that they had pretended to be.
But with all its Meta-Comedy and in-jokes, would a third jump Street movie be taking the gag too far, or do you think this is exactly the type of thing that Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill could pull off?
After all, they've done it twice before!
