One of the greatest (and most terrifying) true crime films ever made, The Town That Dreaded Sundown, has had a remake in the work for ages. Literally. It feels like forever that they've been working on this. But finally, the film, produced by horror-super stars Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy, has released a few stills to prove that indeed, The Town That Dreaded Sundown has filmed and will be released very soon!

Based on the STILL unsolved Texarkana murders from 1946, the original Town followed the Phantom Killer on his path of death and destruction, as well as the effect the event had on the small southern border city. The NEW version of Town is going in a decidedly different direction: when a copy cat begins killing people during Texarkana's annual tribute screening of The Town That Dread Sundown, a young girl must figure out who this new masked murderer is before it's too late...

While no wide-scale release date has been announced yet, according to Shock Till You Drop, the movie will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in the fall. So keep an eye out for more news about Sackhead/Phantom Killer after the film screens for critics!
