Cautiously optimistic about future comic book movies.

The New York Times sat down with Ben Affleck to promote his new movie Gone Girl, but even they couldn’t help but ask about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice too. While Affleck didn’t drop and Earth-shattering news, he did give a very interesting quote about Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Here’s what he had to say:

In the meantime, Mr. Affleck is finishing production of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in Detroit. “I’m having a blast,” he said. Written by Chris Terrio, who wrote “Argo,” the film, Mr. Affleck said, “is really unique to the genre and really smart.”

We’ve seen “really smart” in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, but it’ll be very interesting to learn how Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is “really unique” to the superhero movie genre. What do you make of Affleck’s remarks? Let me know in the comments below.
