Late last month our very own Peter Matthews did a similar fan casting for Mary Jane in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise from Sony and asked you who was best to play Spidey's most iconic love interest in the series. He gave you some great examples of actresses who could pull off the part, but you guys sparked some even better potential! Let's go over some of the most popular names on your lists to play Mary Jane in [The Amazing Spider-Man 3](movie:671279)!
Ben Salario suggested: Karen Gillan
Karen Gillan is most famously known for playing the companion, Amy Pond, to Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who, and just wrapped up the mind-blowing hit [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) where she played the half alien, half robot with a real rude 'tude, Nebula. Her acting chops are pretty extensive and she certainly has the charm to bring Mary Jane to life in a relatable way. She's gorgeous, but low-key and down to earth which is the example of Mary Jane everyone knows and loves.
Colby C. Collier suggested: Emma Watson
Emma Watson is one of the most famous young women in the world after the Harry Potter franchise so it's no surprise that Spider-Man fans are demanding to see her in action again as Mary Jane Watson. I mean, she already has the last name and everything. It's a sign, guys. Emma is known for being choosey with the roles she takes on. Only taking ones that she can relate to and lose herself in, could this be one of them?
Michael Clay Ficklin suggested: Bonnie Wright
Another Potter girl on the list! Bonnie Wright played the young, sometimes shy but always fierce, Ginny Weasley. Bonnie hasn't been in too many well-known pictures sans being a part of the largest fandom in the world. Could this be the role to catapult the darling 23 year old actress into more blockbuster films?
Jame Rumschik suggested: Holland Roden
Holland Roden plays the ever-popular and smart mouthed Lydia Martin on MTV's Teen Wolf. She hasn't been in many movies, just two made for DVD or TV roles in Bring It On: Fight to the Finish and 2013's fright with a bite House of Dust. She has reportedly been vying for a big break, though. Many of the comments were begging to see her as Mary Jane, so this looks like an excellent place for her to start!
Chris Hansen suggested: Jane Levy
Jane Levy is a fan favorite to see play Mary Jane, and it makes sense. Mary Jane in the comics is supposed to be the spitting image of Gwen Stacy with red hair. As you can obviously tell miss Levy looks quite similar to Gwen Stacy actress, Emma Stone. Jane Levy is best known for playing Tessa Altman the city girl gone quiet neighborhood dweller in ABC's Suburgatory. You may have seen her play tormented Mia in the reboot of The Evil Dead where she portrayed a teenage girl falling victim to supernatural haunts. Her emotional range seems quite wide which would allow her to easily depict all of the roller-coaster chaos that comes alongside loving Peter Parker.
Thanks for five more brilliant examples, camp! Did these five babely red heads do it for ya? Or do you have some other suggestions to throw our way?! If so, drop a comment and let us know!
