On a Halloween night, a group of friends are forced to face the consequences of their past actions when, on the anniversary of two deaths, a masked killer appears, seeking revenge. Is this the latest film from horror masters Wes Craven or John Carpenter? NOPE! It's the directorial debut of 13-year-old Emily DiPrimio and she's already accomplished more by thirteen than most of us probably will in a lifetime.
Along with her father John, Emily successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her first feature film, titled Carver, and raised almost $32,000 to her $25,000 goal. While the film doesn't have a release date yet, the inaugural trailer is out and the movie looks like a fun 80s-style throwback slasher! Plus... it was written and directed by a girl who can barely travel on an airplane without a flight attendant. So just think about that the next time you're whining about having to take out the trash.
Personally, I am stoked to see this film. The trailer actually looks better than half of the big-budget horror films that have been released lately and at the very least, you know Carver was made with love. You can follow the progress on Carver at the website and in the meantime, watch the trailer below!
