I'm back guys! Today, I will continue what I started writing in my last article, which if you haven't read it: This is my phase 3 & 4.
Spider-Man: The Death of the Staceys
The film is really the return of the Green Goblin. Harry Osborn is introduced as Peter's old friend who has sheltered himself from the world. Harry decides to come back out into the world, only to fall prey to drugs and alcohol. His father, Norman, hears about this and reverts to his Green Goblin self who believes it's Spider-Man's fault for some insane, obsessive reason. Mary Jane is also introduced in this film in a very minor way, she is name dropped as Peter's new neighbor. Peter & Gwen get news that Gwen's father has been murdered, crushed by rubble while saving a child from the Green Goblin. Spider-Man begins hunting down the Green Goblin, but Norman is always one step ahead. He discovers Peter's identity and kidnaps Gwen. The infamous comic book scene where Peter accidentally kills Gwen while trying to save her. Blaming the Goblin for her death, Peter goes after the Goblin and the ending of Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man (2002) ending plays out. The film ends with Harry blaming Spider-Man for his father's death. We then get a post credit scene where Doc-Ock informs the rest of the Project 12 that he would be taking over following the death of their leader. Project 12 is still underway and even though they rank only as 9, they would find better candidates.
Spider-Man: Rise of the Jackal
This film shows Peter still attempting to get over Gwen. He carries on as Spider-Man, only to run into Gwen on the streets! He immediately reconnects with her, but they are attacked by the Jackal, a costumed villain who claims that Gwen belongs to him. Peter continues to investigate into this, only unmask him as Professor Miles Warren, a teacher Gwen had been a student of in college. Warren was obsessed with Gwen and even went so far as to clone her. Peter realizes that the Gwen he's been with is a clone of the deceased original. As he confronts the Jackal, he finds that the clone Gwen has been kidnapped by Warren. Peter saves her and battles Jackal, who escapes. However, Jackal sicks a Spidey clone on him and he kills it. Gwen Clone leaves to explore the world and Peter has to let her go. When he returns home however, he meets Mary Jane Watson. Wowza!
The New Green Goblin
This story, continues Project 12 through Harry. He discovers that he has cancer as well and takes his father's serum. The serum, however, causes him much more pain. He develops a Goblin suit that will help him endure the pain. Harry goes insane like his father and basically does everything his father did. Spider stops him, but he escapes. He confronts Project 12 and says he is taking over from his father. Doc Ock is infuriated, but Harry threatens to kill him if he gets any opposition. There is a fight between the two, but Harry wins and tells Ock that he can be field leader, if it'll make him happy. Project 12 now has 10 members again.
The first and probably only female driven film. Felicia is the daughter of a cat burglar. She takes up his job after his death and is scouted by Project 12. She instead of fighting Spider-Man falls in love with him and becomes his ally. Project 12 becomes enraged and she has fend for herself. She is excluded from the project and goes solo as an anti-hero. Project 12 then create the Hobgoblin out of Roderick Kingsley and send him off to kill Spider-Man.
Picking up where they left off and the end of Black Cat, we see Hobgoblin battles spider-man and have his own origin story fully shown. He ends up becoming member 11 of project 12. Spider-Man barely stops him, but Kingsley escapes.
Spider-Man: The Alien Saga
Spidey battles a new enemy in the form of Puma. While they fight in a lab, Peter smashes a jar a black goo that gets on him. It turns out to be a symbiote. He is taken over and fights Puma again in the black suit. However, he and his girlfriend, Mary Jane (who he's been dating since the end of Phase 3), see his personality change and he calls on Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four to help remove it. After Reed can't help him, he finds himself fighting puma in an old church. Eddie Brock, a reporter Spider-Man discredited, is there trying to get pictures. Puma rings Spidey's bell (literally) and the symbiote falls on Brock, who becomes Venom. Spidey beats Puma and Venom runs away.
Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt
Kraven abandons Project 12 to finally prove he is better than Spidey. The two fight through the entire film and he unleashes Vermin to help him kill Spider-Man. Spidey beats Vermin, but loses. He buries Spidey alive, but makes it easy for him to escape. He feels as though he has finally beaten his arch foe and commits suicide. Spidey mourns but he marries MJ afterwards after realizing how short life is.
Continues the story we saw of Eddie in Spider-Man: The Alien Saga. Then He becomes Venom and "kills" Spider-Man. Ultimately, he joins Project 12 as their 11th member, in place of the deceased Kraven.
Sequel to Venom, establishes Agent Venom (Flash Thompson) who we watch on covert ops.
I hope you enjoyed my article. I'll be back with the third and final part on Monday!
