The TV crossover everyone has been begging for since the beginning of Family Guy is finally here. If the countdown isn't exciting enough, sneak peek photos of the episode have just become available on Entertainment Weekly.

The premiere of Family Guy's 13th season will give way to the crossover between the Simpsons and the Griffins. In an exclusive interview with EW, Simpsons creator/executive producer Matt Groening and creator/executive producer of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane, go into the details of this much anticipated episode.

Titled "The Simpsons Guy", the episode starts with the Griffins taking a road trip that leads them -on purpose or by mistake- to Springfield where they soon meet the Simpsons family. Stewie bonds with Bart over prank calls and skateboarding lessons, Lisa becomes fond of Meg, who turns out to be good at the saxophone. Lois and Marge are sympathetic of each other because of their idiotic husbands but Peter and Homer might not get along due to different beer preferences. Brian grows very impatient with Santa's Little Helper and Chris sucks on a pacifier with Maggie... a separate pacifier. That would be gross.

Even though information has slowly come to light, it is still impossible to tell where the story will go and if fans of either show will be happy with the result. Macfarlane said the key to a good episode is really about the character interaction.

People want to see Peter interact with Homer. They want to see Bart interact with Stewie. In a way, the story in a crossover episode, while it has to be there, is never quite as important as how the characters interact with each other.

The 232nd episode of Family guy will air on September 28 2014, but if you can't wait that long, here is a 5 minute sneak peek of the episode, shown for the first time at the 2014 Comic-Con International.
