Eric Kovaleski has won innumerable martial arts trophies - particularly for fighting - and is the youngest Grandmaster in his martial arts discipline of Tang So Do.

However, he says his first film was a "new challenge" and he could hardly ask for a greater challenge, or honor, in his first cinematic fight scene, which is the first fight scene in "The Martial Arts Kid".

In the first fight scene of his movie career, Kovaleski had to go toe-to-toe with martial arts/action-movie legend Cynthia Rothrock.

"It was just a great, pleasant experience", says Kovaleski. I can't think of a way that it (could) have went better."

"It's like I envisioned it", Kovaleski continues. "I was young and i always wanted to work in action films or martial arts films and (I grew up) having Cynthia Rothrock as a role model. You know?"

"It was such an awesome experience to finally be able to do it", he concludes. "Surreal, I guess, would be the best word to describe it."

"The Martial Arts Kid" hits theaters in 2015.
