So, sure, you can ask Bill Murray a serious question about an upcoming sequel to one of his classic movies, and, sure, he'll probably give you a pretty forthright answer.
But if you're expecting that answer to be anything less than a layered, meta and ultimately completely baffling response? Well, then you obviously don't get what Bill Murray's all about.
Asked recently by Scott Mantz of Schmoes Know and Access Hollywood what his thoughts were on the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 having an all-female leading cast, Murray had this to say:
"It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it’s a grand idea, I don’t know who they’re talking about, but it’s a good idea. I would watch it! I mean, I love Robert Palmer’s videos, so why wouldn't I love the female Ghostbusters?"
Or, in other words - he's totally on board. Maybe. Possibly. Unless he isn't.
Which, seeing as he's never been shy about how much he has publicly admitted hating the idea of a sequel, is still entirely possible.
Even if an-all female cast is clearly an awesome idea.
Also, let's be honest, no-one actually loves Robert Palmer's videos, do they?
Irrespective, the odds of seeing Bill Murray in [Ghostbusters 3](movie:32733) seem as slim as ever - but that doesn't have to stop us dreaming.
What do you guys think? Down for an all-female Ghostbusters?
