Fox and Amblin are bringing a sequel to Steven Spielberg's 2002 film Minority Report. You remember Minority Report; taking place in the future, Tom Cruise works for Precrime, a special unit that is able to arrest murderers before they commit their crimes. This future information is supplied to them by Precogs; gifted individuals who have the ability to see into the future. Awesome Tom Cruise action and Steven Spielberg science fiction unfolds from there.

The television show will be taking place ten years after the end of Precrime. A Precog, trying to live a normal life while still haunted by visions of the future, meets a detective who is being haunted by her past and she may be able to help him find a new use for his gift.

Although adapting films to t.v. seems to be the new thing, it has been fairly successful thus far and the prospect of a female-led science fiction show is certainly something to get excited about. Spielberg is also responsible for bringing Falling Skies and Under the Dome, among others, to television recently and everyone knows that his commitment to quality immediately brings everything up to a higher level. This could be exciting. We haven't had a female-led sci-fi show since Fringe. What do you think about Minority Report being turned into a t.v. show? Please, let me know in the comments section!
