Serial Killers dubbed 'The Lonely Road Maniacs' are terrorizing Russia.

Remember that scene at the start of Wrong Turn, where the killers lay spiked wire across the road to trap motorists on quiet country roads?

That's how these sick killers catch their victims, The Daily Mail reports. They hide in deserted roads, waiting for cars to drive over their spiked traps, before shooting their prey and disappearing into the woods.

Chillingly, no valuables have been taken, suggesting that the killers' motive is pure, cold-blooded murder for its own sake.

Russian police have nothing but this sketch from a surviving victim.

The Lonely Road Killers have murdered at least 14 people.

Criminal Psychologist Mikhail Vinogradov states:

These people are either former military men, or ex-policemen. You can see they were trained...they are at their peak physically....these people love killing, their motivation is that of a maniac.

Terrifying. Let's hope these depraved killers are brought to justice.
