While there are some celebrities who seem like they've been in the spotlight forever, it might surprise you that most of them had to get their start in the working world somewhere quite different to the glamorous world of Hollywood. Thankfully for us, it turns out that for certain celebrities it was blindly obvious that they were not cut out for certain lines of work.

Check out these stars who were (thankfully) terrible at their pre-showbiz jobs:

1. Jennifer Aniston: Terrible telemarketer

Before becoming a celebrity and hair icon, Jennifer Aniston worked as a telemarketer! She only had the job for two weeks and still regrets it to this day: "thank God that was only two weeks. I was awful, selling timeshares...and upsetting people terribly."

2. Amy Adams: Bad Hooters waitress

Before hitting the big time, Amy Adams just wanted a car, and spent some time working at Hooters to save up.

She lasted just two months before she admits “I wasn’t cut out to be a waitress...That was a short-lived ambition.” At least she got a car out of it?

3. Walt Disney: Fired Cartoonist

Walt Disney was once fired by a newspaper editor because he lacked imagination and had no good ideas for his cartoon strips. Well, seems like someone might have had to eat their words...

4. Gerard Butler: Failed man of the law

At the age of 25 Gerard Butler was a trainee lawyer, but just one week before he qualified as a lawyer he was fired. Two years later Butler got his first break acting on the stage and hasn't looked back.

5. Rachel McAdams: Unskilled fastfood worker

Before Rachel McAdams was delivering iconic film dialogue she was working at McDonald's delivering the most famous lines of all time, 'would you like fries with that?' Even though she spent three summers working under the golden arches, she admits she was pretty useless: "I was not a great employee; I broke the orange juice machine one day."

6. Hugh Jackman: Underwhelming party clown

It turns out The Prestige wasn't the first time Hugh Jackman had performed magic tricks to make a living. The Wolverine star was a party clown for children's birthdays but he admits he might not have been particularly good: "I remember a six-year-old standing up at a party saying 'Mummy this clown is terrible, he doesn't know any tricks'—and he was right."

7. Kristen Bell: Apathetic Fro-Yo hawker

Kristen Bell was once a Fro-Yo server near Detroit! She freely admits she cared very little for the job admitting "I definitely, definitely knew for over a year knew that there were fruit flies in the yogurt and actively served it to everyone in the Metro Detroit area." Ew, remind me never to get Fro-Yo in Detroit.....

8. George Clooney: Inferior insurance salesman

Ultimate silver fox, George Clooney was once a door-to-door insurance salesman. His stint in sales didn't exactly go well as he admitted to David Letterman: "I sold insurance door-to-door, but it didn't work out well. The first day I sold one (policy) and the guy died." Whoops!

Which pre-showbiz celeb career stuff up surprised you the most?
