The third instalment in the popular "Jump Street" franchise, you guessed it....23 Jump Street is coming!
According to Deadline, 22 Jump Street screenwriter Rodney Rothman has been hired to write the new film with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller overseeing its development. There is no official word at this time on whether Lord and Miller will be returning to direct the third instalment.
Did anyone expect there not to be a third? [22 Jump Street](movie:434853) holds an 84% Critic Rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is great for a comedy, audiences loved it and it CRUSHED at the Box Office! There is no reason for there not to be a third.
I loved both 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street for their meta sense of humor and direction. Hill and Tatum have fantastic chemistry and that's something audiences, including myself, want to see more of.
Of course, many of you who saw "22 Jump Street" will remember the incredible credits sequence which sees Hill and Tatum create over a dozen more sequels in the franchise! Which included; "Medical School", "Culinary School", "2121 Jump Street (set in space)", "Ninja Academy" and many more!
23 Jump Street will of course be a box office hit....but will the joke get old?
There is a chance that the joke may get tired by the third film, if Lord and Miller return, I think the chance is minimal because these directors have just mastered the art of turning something stupid and ridiculous into something very self aware and hilarious!
I am excited by this news but I wanna know what you guys think! Sound off below and share your thoughts on the upcoming '23 Jump Street'!
