And now I shall sigh. This trailer is literally everything I would expect from Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy when it comes to a remake of an understated (albeit cheesy) serial killer classic. Spoiler alert: that isn't a good thing.
In two and half minutes, we have screaming naked girls, the hint of an unnecessary supernatural plot line, a stupid Jigsaw voice, and more scenes shrouded in so much darkness that you can't tell what the hell is going on than you can shake a stick at. Basically, it's every other Blumhouse movie, but with the added nega-benefit of being a pseudo-meta remake. Again, I say...
The film's ultra meta description from IMDb: "65 years after a masked serial killer terrorized the small town of Texarkana, the so-called 'moonlight murders' begin again. Is it a copycat or something even more sinister? A lonely high school girl, with dark secrets of her own, may be the key to catching him."
So, watch the trailer below and let me know what YOU think. The film will be screening for critics at Fantastic Fest, so we should know more soon.
