Well, I've heard of 'Be Prepared', but this new trend in Japan is just...kinda morbid?
You can now rehearse their own funeral - including trying out a coffin.
Japan's Shukatsu Festa - appropriately translating to 'one's end' - lets totally healthy people dress up in their intended burial clothes and matching 'death pallor' make-up, before they climb into the coffin they want to be buried in.
The slightly creepy process has become mega-popular in Japan, even selling copies of coffin catalogues to eager browsers.
At first glance, this does seem very weird, but maybe it's a nice idea to take on the responsibility of funeral planning for yourself. If everything's all sorted, it's less stress for your loved ones, should anything happen.
Oh yeah, it's totally morbid...but at least you'll go out the way you wanted it.
Would you try out a coffin and rehearse your funeral like this?
