Even with two major new movies entering the marketplace, Guardians of the Galaxy still held strong; the movie was off just 23 percent to $2.09 million. Guardians has now passed the $300 million mark on Saturday, making it the first movie to do so since Frozen. And now the biggest movie of the year in the U.S by some miles now. (Until Hunger Games and the Third Hobbit.)

This shows the dominance of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this, an unknown section of comic books, has surpassed 'Man of Steel', the most famous Superhero on Earth, that will get board of directors at Marvel cheering!
