The man behind Fox TV's upcoming miniseries event, Wayward Pines, Chad Hodge, has just been named as the man who will bring the popular YA trilogy, The Darkest Minds to movie screens.

Written by Alexandra Bracken, The Darkest Minds has been described as a mashup of superheroes, post-apocalyptic tales of survival and coming of age stories. You know, the usual stuff that you deal with growing up.

Set in an America that has just experienced a pandemic that killed most children and teenagers, some of the survivors have developed superpowers. These "lucky" few are deemed too dangerous for society and are put into internment camps. One detainee, a sixteen year old with telekinesis, escapes from camp and joins a group of teens on the run from the government. (Am I the only one who thinks this sounds a lot like an X-Men movie?)

The Darkest Minds was published in 2012, the sequel Never Fade was released 2013 and the third installment, Afterlight, will be available in October. So, will you be lining up to see another YA book adaptation? I think I may have hit my limit for the time being.
