After the excitement that followed the release of [The Walking Dead](series:201193) promo images yesterday, we've got our hands on more awesomeness following the release of some leaked set photos thanks to The Spoiling Dead Fans!

This time the images have given us quite an insight into the direction the second half of Season 5 will go.

Warning: possible TV show and comic spoilers ahead!

Although The Walking Dead is based on the comics, we know that the show often deviates from them quite heavily. However, these new photos show that Season 5 will return to the comic books in the form of the Alexandria Safe-Zone.

But before I explain more about the ASZ, take a look at the photos:

The Alexandria Safe-Zone - or ASZ - is a walled block of untouched streets in Alexandria, Virginia where Rick and the gang have been living for quite some time in the comic series. While the Alexandria Safe-Zone is untouched, the rest of the area has succumbed to the same crumbling decay as the rest of the world has post-apocalypse. The Spoiling Dead Fans theorize that these photos show the decayed city of Alexandria burning outside the ASZ limits.

I like this theory, especially given the next set of photos:

You see those panels circled in red - the ones pictured on the other side of the wall to the burning buildings? They're the ASZ solar panels. Yep that's right, it looks like Rick and the gang will have electricity again!

If this wasn't enough to convince you then take a look at this mashup image from the comic:

It definitely looks like we'll be seeing the gang headed to another gated community, this time maybe one a bit safer than Terminus! Not to mention that if these pictures do show the ASZ then it's possible the TV show could end up filming here for the next two years.

Poll

Do you think we'll see the Alexandria Safe Zone in The Walking Dead Season 5
