With [The Walking Dead](series:201193) Season 5 drawing closer, the anticipation for the much talked about premiere is reaching fever pitch. However today we haven't received news about episode one but instead it's all about the second episode of Season 5!
Strap yourselves in, it's about to get good!
Basically we know that the first episode will center around the group escaping Terminus, however we were promised "a very special surprise at the end" to look forward to. I can only imagine the surprise will be Carl and Rick reuniting with Judith, plus Carol and Tyreese). What would be a sweeter ending than Rick and Carl being reunited with Lil' Ass Kicker? Nothing, that's what.
Well SFX's November issue seems to agree that episode one will end with a reunion given the info they've shared about episode two. Here's a excerpt to read for yourself.
Warning, spoilers below:
A young African American man wearing the white collar and black shirt. From out of the forest tears what at first looks like a platoon of infantrymen. But as the brush clears, their faces grow familiar- Rick, his son Carl, Daryl, Maggie, Glenn, Michonne, Carol. In a heartbeat, they envelop the walkers, Rick grabs one, slams its head against the boulder, and throws it to the ground. Carol drives her knife through the skull of another. Michonne hits hers twice in the back of its head with the butt of a rifle, then a third time after it drops. The threat eliminated, Glenn shouts ‘are we good?’. After scanning for more walkers Rick replies ‘Yeah’. He looks up at the terrified man and offers him his hand.
First of all, the 'young African American man' in question has to be Father Gabriel, right?
So breaking it down, in episode 2 we can expect:
- An introduction to Father Gabriel
- Carol being reunited with the group (no mention of Tyreese and Judith, though they could just be holed up somewhere with Tara, Sasha, Bob, Abraham, Eugene and Rosita)
- The group moving through the forest
- Michonne getting her rifle (I hope she still keeps the katana though...)
Rick extending a hand of friendship to Father Gabriel
To be honest, that all sounds pretty awesome to me! I can't wait.
Season 5 of The Walking Dead premieres on Sunday, October 12th
