Into the Woods presents several famous fairy tales weaved into one: Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel all make an appearance in the story of a baker and his wife who try to reverse a curse on their family in order to have a child.

I've had my eye on Rob Marshall's upcoming big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s 1987 Broadway musical since the first major casting announcements revealed that Meryl Streep would play the wicked witch, Anna Kendrick would be Cinderella, and Johnny Depp's would appear as the wolf. I mean, what could be better? That casting is nothing short of superb.

And as these foresty things continue to gather pace, we've now got our hands on the first poster for the movie. Take a look at this brand new one-sheet from the House of Mouse - it's a gem:

I already had this movie down as one of 2014's big Oscar contenders, and it looks like it's just added some fresh bait. The gorgeous visuals of this Disney poster look textbook fairytale. Hopefully, then, our first big-screen stroll Into the Woods will stick as closely as possible to the Broadway original.
