Well, for the three of you that might actually be excited about this news, according to The Wrap, Paramount has officially released the new title and five-months-later premiere date for the film previously known as Paranormal Activity 5. Horror Channel Manager Kat thinks it sounds like the title of a TLC show where Honey Boo Boo and Mama June hunt ghosts together. You be the judge...
Directed by Gregory Plotkin, this latest entry into the PA franchise will now be known as Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension.
Personally, I think it sounds like an episode of Scooby Doo where the gang finds out the ghost in the SPOOKY GHOST DIMENSION was really the creepy caretaker, Old Man Smithers, the whole time. But either way, I think we're pretty much on the same page. It's a stupid title. However, if you're actually interested in this FIFTH sequel to the first Paranormal Activity film that will reportedly be somehow connected, its new release date is in that prime haunted month... March. March 13, 2015 to be exact. Nothing says SCARY GHOST DIMENSION like the week before the first day of spring.
And a NOTE: As far as I can tell, THIS addition to the PA franchise is being considered the fifth, because The Marked Ones was not a sequel to the original film but a spin-off. Rumor has it that series original Katie Featherstone will be appearing in The Ghost Dimension, thus making it the fifth film in the series, not a spin-off. Feel free to argue with me, but this is my theory and I'm sticking to it.
But really, don't argue with me. I kind of don't care either way.
