Although most of our attention has been focused on a certain season six storyline, now we are just 2 weeks away from the premiere (!!!), it's time to dig deeper into what might happen to other characters.

Tyler Lockwood might no longer be a werewolf after the season 5 finale, but he still has the potential to go back to the dark side. The werewolf gene still lies deep within him, waiting to be triggered by Tyler getting blood on his hands by killing somebody.

But, will Tyler decide to activate his werewolf side once more, or will he remain in control of his killer temper and remain human?

Let's speculate what could happen to this firecracker in season six below!

Fighting Spirit

Sure, werewolf life is tough, but it also gives Tyler the ability to help his friends in way he couldn't if he was human.

The Mystic Falls crew are skilled at getting themselves into serious supernatural trouble, and a werewolf like Tyler is exactly the sort of force you want next to you in a fight.

Being human makes you a weak liability, but being a werewolf is exactly the opposite.

Maybe Tyler will reactivate the gene to protect the people he loves. It's also possible he might be forced to kill to protect someone else, and this act will shape his fate enormously.

Anger Management

Let's face it, Tyler isn't so great at anger management. With his macho personality and his uncontrollable werewolf genes, it's all too likely that the rage will become too much for Tyler and he will end up slaughtering someone.

Julie Plec gave us a clue to Tyler struggles when he teased that;

Tyler is back to being a guy with a werewolf curse. He’s been down this road, and it’s really difficult [and] he’s got testosterone and machismo, so how does he keep himself together? He’ll find help in some fun sources

Those "fun sources" don't sound too reliable though... I predict it will only be a matter of time before this coiled spring's rage erupts uncontrollably.

The Boon of Experience

Tyler already has a good understanding of what being a werewolf is actually like, and maybe he is totally done with that life.

The painful transformations every month are one thing to contend with, but Tyler would also be unable to return to the now supernatural free Mystic Falls.

When Tyler first triggered the werewolf curse, he was ignorant about the consequences and had no idea he could become a werewolf. Now, things are different.

Learning from experience, Tyler should have enough knowledge to avoid putting himself in another situation that could result in a death at his hands.

Do you think Tyler will reactivate his werewolf gene?
