To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

I don't have a fear of flying, but this video shocked me more than I expected it to.

Taken by a passenger on Jetblue 1416, September 18 - which fortunately landed safely at the last minute - the scene inside the cabin as the plane bombs through the air is the stuff of disaster movies...

Seriously. The plane is in emergency descent, the cabin is full of smoke, one of the engines cuts out, oxygen masks have fallen - but the passengers are all incredibly chilled out!

My First Thought: that looks a lot less dramatic than it does on screen!

Final Destination, Alive, Cast Away...the passengers don't seem to have the calm of this guy - who shot the video aboard Flight 1416:

If you listen to the video, he's not just holding it together, he's actually laughing and smiling.

My Second Thought: does this prove Tyler Durden's theory in Fight Club?

I mean, all the people on Flight 1416 were pretty chill...maybe it was just a plane full of badasses...Either way, the most important thing is that nobody was hurt. What do you guys think?

Why do you think the people on the flight were so impressively calm?
