Some interesting news has hit over the past few days. Deadpool movie being officially announced for February 2016, and a Suicide Squad movie being in the works. Looks like my list for those DC scheduled movies could turn out very different to what I predicted. With that being said today is the first day a new comic TV show with be starting. Its that time of year again where all the new seasons begin. This is going to be quite the year for comics on TV and hopefully we'll be impressed with what we get.
I've decided to order all the comic TV series in which Im most and least looking forward too. I shall not be including any of the Netflix series's as so far its only been confirmed that we'll be seeing Daredevil next year, and I got a feeling that won't be arriving until at least half way through the year. So without further due I'll kick this list off.
Now unfortunately Im ranking this show last because I have little interest in it at the moment. I'll definitely give it a go and its great to see a female lead series but Im not that excited for this one. I'll admit I really didn't expect this to happen and when I heard about it I was like 'cool' but until I see a trailer this doesn't have much going for it yet. Unlike all the other shows we won't be seeing this one until the new year in January. Hopefully it will have something to prove.
For me Marvel won't be getting any of the top spots for its TV series this year unfortunately. For me Agents of Shield didn't have the most impressive of first seasons but then that can be the case for a lot of shows. I know everyone was saying it got a lot better during the second half but I pretty much missed all of it after the first half. Hopefully I'll get around to watching the second half soon even though I practically know how it ends. For now lets hope season two is even better than the first. The new season premiers tomorrow on ABC.
Next on my list is Constantine and I reckon if done well this could be fantastic. This one airs at the end of October so for now we got Shield and Gotham to keep us busy. I haven't got much to say on this one yet but the trailers are looking good, I think the casting for John Constantine is great, and the posters look awesome.
Was really debating whether to put this one in second place but as its not starting till next month and the other show is starting tonight, I let that one get a head. Now Im really excited for this one as were finally getting to see the Flash in something. Need to see Flash in a movie really but this is good for now. The fact that this is a spin-off to the first shared DC Universe on screen that were actually seeing is why Im really hyped for this one. It has high potential so hopefully my excitement should pay off.
Now this show is probably the one with the most on its shoulders at the moment. I say this because it is one of the most anticipated new series to start this year yet it could suffer from a few things. My main worry about this show is too much forced into it and too many cheesy lines like "Dude has anyone ever told you that when you walk, you look just like a Penguin". So Im really excited for this but hopefully that excitement won't be ruined by a disaster of a program. Gotham is the first to premiere tonight.
Was there really any doubt about this one coming first. After the tremendous second season there was no question that I wouldn't put this first. After seeing what Slade did to Oliver I'd be surprised if they could top that in this season. But I guess at the moment the only way to go bigger is to bring on Ras al Ghul. They had already been teasing the League of Assassins and after their part in season two I think its time they made them more of the primary part in season three.
So there we have it, the order of my most to least anticipated comic TV series starting over the course of this years TV season. Of course there is one comic TV series I missed out on and that is iZombie. I didn't include that one because to be quite honest I don't plan on watching it.
