The sexual tension had been building and building between Claire and Jamie, for six episodes, and the conflict of Claire wanting to let go and be with Jamie and be happy has been wavering back and forth, forth and back and everything in between.

This is one of the most important events in the story as it changes everything for Claire and also ignites the flame of passion between her and Jamie that will see things steaming up quite nicely for the rest of the season.

I’ll be honest when I say that I was a little worried as to how Ron Moore was going to approach the whole “consummation” scene. Author of the Outlander series, Diana Gabaldon, wrote a pretty steamy and satisfying scene that set the bar pretty high for Moore.

Personally, I couldn’t imagine being either of side if camera and having to capture such an intimate scene or event to be the actors who “have to get it on” in front of God knows how many folks who are hanging out on set.

While Moore only followed a skeleton of the original lovemaking scene from the books, he, his writers along with actors, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe get top marks for their totally hot and intense scenes of episode seven.
