OK, there are so many REALLY good villains out there and I was trying to decide who the best of them were. I discovered that there are a lot, but I've narrowed it down to ten. It was hard, but I did it. If I left any out, let me know in the comments.
Let's get going shall we?
1. Biff (Back to the Future)
I chose Biff because I grew up watching Back to the
and loving it. I mean...time-
! Who doesn't love time travel?!? Biff starts out as a bully, but he ends up taking control of pretty much everything and kills Marty's dad!!!
So yeah, I basically put him on the list because I loved the movies. On with the show!
9. Vizzini (The Princess Bride)
Everybody loves Vizzini. This certain Sicilian is the best henchman ever. He gets hired by Prince Humperdink to murder his wife and start a war with a neighboring country.
In his last moments, he duals the Dread Pirate Roberts in a battle of wits. Sadly though, he dies. What!?! Inconceivable!!!!!
Due to his not doing anything truly significant, I put him number nine on this list.
8. The White Witch (The Chronicles of Narnia)
I chose her because who is the number one villain of all time? Satan, the Devil. And I think C.S. Lewis did a fantastic job representing the Devil in Jadis. You can't have a list of top ten villains and not include the Devil. Since this is a Top Ten 'Fictional' Villains list, however, I have to do a fictional representation seeing as how the Devil isn't fictional.
7. Darth Vader
Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader, the Chosen One. Being one of the best cinematic villains of all time, I couldn't POSSIBLY leave him out. Darth Vader was probably THE most iconic villain and will remain so for(pretty much)ever.
6. Richard III
Some people think that Loki is the master trickster. Don't worry Loki IS on this list. However, this dude is just evil.
Yes, Richard III was a real person, but I'm talking about Shakespeare's historical fictional play he made based on this man. I saw this play recently in Ashland Oregon and he kills over a dozen people to claim the throne. He does so right under the noses of the entire kingdom AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!!! Not enough to crown him master trickster you say? All right, how about this? He kills a man at the beginning of the play. During the funeral procession, he approaches the wife of the man he murdered. She knows he killed him and curses him, but he (in five minutes) convinces her to marry him standing over the open casket containing her husband.
5. Darth Maul
It takes a lot to make a successful villain and very few become very successful or loved just by being extremely awesome and cool. This creepy lookin' fella did this. He is the best Sith, in my book, but sadly he died in the only movie he was in. :.(
I know his death could be debated, but, seriously guys? The cartoons aren't REAL Star Wars. He's dead. Sorry. :.(
4. Gollum/ Smeagol
Gollum is a great villain because he's interesting and he keeps readers/watchers guessing. I legitimately thought that he would turn out to be a good guy in the end. This did not happen. He kept going back and forth deciding whether or not to join the Hobbits.
Smeagol achieves what makes a villain a good villain. He's as interesting, as likeable, or as loved as the heroes.
3. The Joker
Undoubtedly, the best DC Comics villain, the Joker!!! Primarily Batman's villain, although he does challenge many other heroes, he is the only person Batman FEARS. This is because he's unpredictable due to his insanity, there's no telling what he might do next. This keeps audiences interested and on the edge of their seats which is what makes him the no. 3 villain. Plus, he's really the only good DC villain, in my opinion.
Magneto is number two because of three reasons. First, he's just my personal favorite and should be everyone's. Second, he's really more of a hero! All he's doing is protecting his kind (mutants) from the humans. The humans attacked him first simply because he was different. So, I think he's a hero. He just takes things Way too far sometimes. And last of all, he's just soooooo wicked sweet. Now. I never say "wicked sweet", but I am now because.....he is.
Finally we come down to THE NUMBER ONE villain.....of all time. I give Loki number one because he obviously deserves it. I mean, you can't get a more successful villain. You just can't!
1. He's more loved than most of the MARVEL heroes.
2. He's almost as unpredictable as the Joker.
3. He is (almost) the master trickster.
4. He's MARVEL. You can't get better than MARVEL.
Personally, I would rate Magneto as No. 1, but I have to give it to the Frost Giant king. (Cause really, he killed their king and he's the rightful heir. Hmm)
And since I couldn't fit all of the greatest villains in this list, here are some bad dudes that almost got in.
Hope you enjoyed! Did I miss anyone? Let me know below. :)
Who IS the best Villain EVER???
