A woman is suing Disney's Frozen for $250 MILLION...because she claims they stole her life story.
Yup, seriously. TMZ reports that Peruvian Isabella Tanikumi claims Disney ripped off her autobiography, Yearnings of the Heart. Let's have a look at the evidence...
Disney has said that Frozen is based on The Snow Queen, the traditional tale from Hans Christian Andersen.
Which totally makes sense, as Frozen is about a girl with magical ice powers, a talking snowman, rugged wild men, and trolls.
Yearnings of the Heart is about a girl surviving an earthquake in Peru and her adaptation to life in the USA.
It's not the first time that something like this has happened: Dan Brown was sued by the authors of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail and J.K. Rowling suffered a lawsuit from the family of Adrian Jacobs, who claimed that his book Willy the Wizard was the inspiration for the Harry Potter series. Needless to say, both lawsuits failed.
I don't see the similarities, personally. What do you guys think?
