Coming off a great season finale, [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](series:722469) returns strong and with a sure idea of where they are heading.

**Will Contain Spoilers**

The first episode of the season introduced a bunch of new characters and how they will affect later on in the series; having H.Y.D.R.A. all over the world Coulson needs as much help as possible. The interesting part is that even though S.H.I.E.L.D. is broken, not many people to trust and many enemies, it feels a lot better formed and more in synch with what is going on. Of course under the wing of Coulson this was accomplished, but there are still some issues within the organization but they are pretty solid so far.

Among the new characters we have Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley, one of the new recruits; she seem to have died at the end of the episode, which I hope it’s not true because she played a fantastic character and someone like her to be used in one episode seems like a waste. As for this week’s villain we have Absorbing man, pretty cool effects that they used for his power, it is interesting seeing a super powered villain be fought by regular humans, but that is part of why S.H.I.E.L.D. becomes interesting.

Lastly I would like to speak about Fitz, my favorite character; who suffered a big traumatic event at the end of last season. From the beginning we see that there is something off about him, his mental capabilities are being limited and even though he is still pretty smart, not everything can come out as easily. He has Simmons helping him, but we quickly realize that she is only in his imagination and this was very sad, hopefully she returns for real and hopefully he becomes better with time, his skills are very useful and they will need him eventually.

Right now the season started great and has a lot of potential, now S.H.I.E.L.D. has to work from the shadows, making the risk greater but still sticking to the truth and fundamentals from when the organization was created. Speaking of which seeing Peggy Carter at the beginning was pretty great and a good small intro to what we will see during the winter break, also here we met possibly one of the heads of Hydra who mysteriously is still alive and young.
