The upcoming Disney adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods is one of the most hotly tipped films to be released this year, but last week it threatened to incur mass anger when characters on Disney.com were wrongly named - leading some to speculate that Disney had altered the original text.

The website wrongly identified Rapunzel's prince as Flynn Rider, Cinderella's Prince as Prince Charming and her stepmother as Lady Tremaine.

For those not in the know: those are names from Disney films Tangled and Cinderella, but not from Into the Woods.

When fans started to kick up a fuss, Disney quickly fixed the errors and told EW that the names were never actually changed and will remain as they are in the upcoming film.

Into the Woods features Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Meryl Streep, and James Corden, and will be released on Christmas Day, 2014 - with the proper character names!
