We're a pop-culture and news group for everyone!

We at The USN have been researching and going over all the upcoming dates of comic book related properties that either have a specific date or the companies have picked a date for an as yet unnamed film. We are going to layout the dates, in order, and the movies that have so far been attached to them.

Between now and 2020 we are set to see the release of 44 comic book related movies in theaters, with 2017 seeing the most at 17. This includes Marvel, DC, Independents, and Marvel’s newest property, Star Wars.

So here we go!

2015 will see the release of 4 movies from Marvel and DC. Those are:

[The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) on May 1st reuniting the original cast with newcomers Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as Vision, and James Spader as Ultron.

Marvel’s [Ant-Man](movie:9048), starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, on July 17th.

And J.J. Abrams’ [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158) on December 18th.

Then we move onto 2016 with 7 movies and 5 more potential ones beginning with:

The much talked about Deadpool movie from Fox possibly starring Ryan Reynolds.

DC Comics film Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25th featuring: Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Momoa, Jeremy Irons, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Holly Hunter, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburn, and Alec Baldwin. Whew!

Captain America 3 starring Chris Evans will hit on May 6th.

Followed by [X-Men: Apocalypse](movie:1194267) on May 19th.

The next taken dates are July 8th and August 5th taken for Marvel and DC films respectively; with November 11th being the possible release date for a Spider-Man spinoff, The Sinister Six!

Also slated for a possible 2016 release date are:

A Boba Fett solo film, Dark Horse’s Fear Agent, two more Marvel properties Venom and Dr. Strange, and lastly a reboot of James O’Barr’s The Crow!

2017 is the most bountiful year of all with 8 definite releases and 4 possibles. The first is Fox with their next entry into the Wolverine franchise on March 3rd. Then Marvel and DC have locked up May 5th and June 23rd respectively, this is followed by the June 30th (?) release of Star Wars: Episode VIII. Fantastic Four 2 will then drop July 14th followed quickly by the July 28th release of The Guardians of the Galaxy 2!

Marvel and DC then end the year by claiming November 3rd (Marvel) and November 17th (DC). Possible film franchises to begin could include: Gambit, The Justice League, and a female centered Spider film!

2018 is still in the works but so far has lined up 8 movies. The only names being tossed around for possible films are: Spider-Man 3, X-Force, and a Han Solo movie! Marvel had claimed 5 dates compared to DC’s 2, but there’s still time to fix that!

2019 and 2020, so far, only see 7 movies combined. The only definite release is Star Wars: Episode IX in 2019, the rest are just place holders with the exception of a possible Star Wars: Red Five movie in 2020.

With the above confirmed release dates and other possible films being made, is there any that have you excited? What are you looking forward to? Do you feel there will be a “Comic Book Backlash” at the cinemas in the coming years; or do you think comic book movies are here to stay? Let us know your thoughts!
