I know it's been awhile since my last review. So I decided to do my review on what I consider a true classic, Jaws.I have watched this movie more times than I can even remember and it never gets old.I like all four of the Jaws movies. They are awesome movies, especially the first one.In my opinion no other shark movie even compares to Jaws.I think my brother likes them even more than me.He would watch them every day if he gets the chance lol.It is a thriller directed by Steven Spielberg and based on a novel of the same name by Peter Benchley. In the story a giant man-eating great white shark attacks beach goers on Amity Island, a fictional summer resort town. The film stars Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Shaw, and Lorraine Gary.Shot mostly Martha's Vineyard. It had a troubled production, going over budget and past schedule. Jaws became the highest grossing film in history at the time and was the most successful motion picture of all time until Star Wars.It opened with a $7,000,000 response and recouped it's costs in two weeks. In 1977 Jaws was the highest grossing international film with worldwide rentals $193 million, equating about $400million of gross revenue.Jaws received mostly positive reviews upon release.Roger Elbert called it "a sensationally effective action picture, a scary thriller that works all the better because it's populated with characters that have been developed into human beings".Rex Reed praised the "nerve-frying" action scenes and concluded that "for the most part, Jaws is a gripping horror film that works beautifully in every department".Jaws won 3 Academy Awards for 'BestFilm Editing','Best Original Dramatic Score', and 'Best Sound'.It was also nominated for Best Picture losing to "One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest".Jaws was chosen Favorite Movie at the People's Choice Awards.Since it's release Jaws is said to be one of the greatest movies of all time.It was number 48 on the American Film Institutes "100 Years....100 Movies"a list of the greatest American Films of all time compiled in 1998, it dropped to 56 on the 10th anniversary list.AFI ranked the shark at 18 on the 50 Best Villains list, and Roy Scheiders line "you're gonna need a bigger boat"was 35th on the top 100 movie quotes. The film is 2nd on the top 100 most thrilling movies list behind Psycho. The New York Times included it on their best 1,000 movies ever made list.In 2001 it was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry as a " culturally significant" motion picture.Jaws led many viewers to fear going in the ocean.Martha's Vineyard celebrated Jaws 30th anniversary with JawsFest in 2005.With a second JawsFest in 2012.For the film's 25th anniversary in 2000 Jaws was released on DVD.A 30th anniversary DVD was released at JawsFest in 2005 with many extras. In 2012 at the 2nd JawsFest a Blu-Ray of Jaws was released with over 4 hours of extras. The Blu-Ray was part of Universal's 100th anniversary, it debuted in 4th on the charts, and sold over 362,000 units. There are 3 sequels none of which even came close to reaching the success of the original. While all 3 sequels made a profit at the box office, critics and audience's were not satisfied with the movies.Jaws inspired 2 theme parks and 2 musicals.Three video games were also inspired by the movie:1987 "Jaws" on Nintendo Entertainment System,2006 "Jaws Unleashed" on Playstation 2, Xbox, and PC, and "Jaws Ultimate Predator" on Nintendo 3DS and Wii.I am sorry this review was so long but with a movie like Jaws it's hard to do a short review.I could have actually made it a whole lot longer, i shortened it alot.I hope everyone enjoys my review of what I consider a true classic, and one of the best movies made.If you haven't seen the movie yet i highly recommend you give it a try.I think you will really enjoy it.You will be pleasantly surprised, I hope. Thanks for reading my review.I appreciate it.I am still kind of new at doing reviews, but I really enjoy it.Thanks for viewing.I hope you enjoyed it.Feel free to comment your opinions on Jaws, I would truly like to hear them.Thanks.Oh and please vote on my poll.I welcome all comments so let me know what you think of the film Jaws and how I am doing on my reviews. Thanks for any input. Thanks everyone for checking out my review.

Have you seen Jaws
