Benedict Cumberbatch may have lent his considerable vocal talents to The Penguins of Madagascar, but that doesn't mean he knows how to pronounce the word "penguin!"
Check out this adorkable video, compiling clips from a BBC America show that Cumberbatch narrated, and watch the Sherlock actor struggle through his pronunciation of the word. It's slightly different each time - he doesn't even mispronounce it consistently. Imagine what the outtakes must sound like:
Was David Attenborough on vacation or something? I'm not sure, but I shall certainly call baby penguins "penglings" henceforth.
Benedict Cumberbatch been at the gin, or does the word "penguin" just defy correct pronunciation?
