What Dragon Age 2 lacked and Dragon Age 3: Inquisition plans to bring back!

Dragon Age 2 removed one of the key elements that made the initial Dragon Age so great: pause and play tactical camera. In this sense it can be equated with Mass Effect 2 concerning how that became far more of a shooter than the original. However, they always return to form with a great blending of the two combat styles in the third installment.

Dragon Age was tough at times. Its combat system and well developed enemies meant that the player was constantly tested with regards to their tactical combat abilities. You were continuously wondering which character should be performing what move at which particular moment and the loss of your other teammates was something which was detrimental to your progression in a fight.

Oh man, the excitement!
Oh man, the excitement!

In Dragon Age 2, you relied upon your abilities of button mashing. It was far more action orientated, and while the combat looked beautiful, it ventured too far from the great RPG combat the first game showed us. But now with Dragon Age 3 we have been promised a new development.

Dragon Age 3: Tactical View and its Advantages

Tactical view is an option that enables the player to pause the fight they find themselves in, and not only take a break if they are in over their heads but strategically analyze the battlefield. Take a look at the video below to see it in action!

This form of combat is apparently not necessary and totally up to the preferences of the player concerning how they like to fight (the way it should be Dragon Age 2!!).

Say you were playing on normal difficulty, and all difficulty in Inquisition means tougher than Origins, definitely tougher than Dragon Age II. So, each different player has different thresholds of how much pressure they can handle separately. - Bioware Producer Cameron Lee

Bioware has stated that the game will certainly be more manageable utilizing this pause tactic, but just the way I like it, your choices dictate your experiences.

Bioware also unveils their character creation system today at 10 am Pacific time, additionally they will be showing off a new area in the game as of yet not seen! Looking forward to more and more news about this upcoming game.

Dragon Age 3 Inquisition will be released on November 21st in Europe and 18th in America for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
