Beyond the comic book page, "Painkiller Jane" is a property that always has had potential, but never seemed to quite reach it.

However, that seems to be changing quickly. First, co-creator Jimmy Palmiotti co-wrote the screenplay with Craig Weeden.

But what really has generated buzz for the upcoming "Painkiller Jane" film is that it is going to be directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska.

The character - originally co-created in a comic book by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada in 1995 - has always been a fan-favorite in the comic-book world, yet both a TV-movie and TV-series never seemed to truly capture the character's essence. As a result, neither were terrible. However, neither version really resonated with viewers either.

However, the "Twisted Twins", as they are affectionately called, seem to be the perfect pair to change that and really translate Jane Vasko to the big screen.
Why? For starters, they can barely contain their excitement when they talk about the project.

Sylvia Soska says one of the things that excites her about the project is the screenplay by Palmiotti and Weeden.

"It is one of the best scripts I've ever read", exclaims Sylvia Soska. "The pace, the characters, the situations, the action, the humor, the heart. I want to see this film. Selfishly, I want to see it first and by directing it, I can."

"Painkiller Jane" is scheduled to hit theaters in 2015.
