If Batman told Thor he had a beautiful body, would Thor hold it against him?
Oscar-winning thesp Ben Affleck appeared on "Live with Kelly and Michael" this week to promote his upcoming thriller: Gone Girl. He confessed he has been bulking up for the part with a feverish cohort of sweat and tears (and we have evidence to prove that it's working). But - surprisingly - he's still striving for a body like that of Thor or Captain America. The actor commented:
I have been getting bigger, yeah. I have been working out a lot. These are not roles that you can do and not exercise for. Audiences have now increasing expectations. Like, in the 50s, you could just be like Burt Lancaster and tall. That was ok, but now you see guys like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans and all these guys whose bodies are just, you think, 'How is that even possible?'
Affleck has been spotted looking pretty beefcake-y of late, and the fact that he's been aspiring to get in the same sort of shape as the Avengers and Thor actor is awesome news, especially as both are trailblazers in the pecs department!
I guess what Affleck is also referring to is a MASSIVE testament to Marvel's unfaltering success. Their recent wave of superhero flicks have earned them a huge fanbase, with movies like The Avengers grossing more than $1.5 billion worldwide.
So, Batfleck clearly knows he's got some big Bat Boots to fill in donning the suit for such a beloved and bulky character. Also, it's only fair, given that his co-star Superman (Henry Cavill) is eating chicken, steak, and brown rice until he smells funky and now looks like he has two adult thighs stitched to the side of his torso.
Has Batfleck got to put in WAY more hours at the gym before he looks like Thor and Cap? Or is he almost there?
