There are so many awesome devices and magical items in the Harry Potter world, but who hasn't wanted an invisibility cloak?

Scientists at the University of Rochester have been working to make that magical technology a reality.

Y'know, stuff like this...

Wanna sneak past a nosy Professor? Sure! Creep off school grounds unnoticed? No problem!

Well, scientists are still in early stages, but the tech is HERE.

The tech uses four lenses to allow a non-distorted picture of an obscured area, from multiple angles.

Magical mischief's not all this tech can achieve...

As well as pinching books from the restricted section of the Hogwarts library, this cloaking technology could be used to eradicate blind spots for moving vehicles, or for surgeons to get a clearer view through obstacles (including their own hands) during operations.

Check out this 1-minute video to see how it works.

Amazing. Now, how long do I have to wait to buy an Invisibility cloak, huh?

Where would you sneak off to if you had an invisibility cloak?
