Disneyland - a magic place where the fun-filled fantasies of children are allowed to be played out among their favorite characters. Or is it...
MentalFloss.com recently uncovered some vintage Disney photos from the '50s, '60s and '70s which show the "happiest place on Earth" in a much creepier, macabre and nightmare-inducing light. Check them out below:
Motor Accident Mickey
Back in the 1950s, it seemed Mickey and Minnie's costumes came with additional facial scarring.
It seemed their scars eventually healed up, but for some reason their vacant, cold, emotionless stares almost make this picture worse. Mickey's eyes really do follow you around the room... screaming.
Demonic Pooh Bear
If Mickey's eyes were bad, Pooh's are even worse. What's also disturbing is the fact the elderly woman on his left appears to be holding him back with her hand. It's almost like he's going to attack the photographer at any moment.
"No Pooh, no! Remember your anger management classes."
When Pigs Fly
Levitating demon-spawn three little piggies. What more needs to be said?
Never take acid while watching Pinocchio, because this is what you see.
Just when you thought it was safe to leave the castle...
Pupaphobics Look Away Now
Putting the evil into the evil stepmother.
"I Know Where You Live"
Who can imagine the sinister threats little piggy number 2 is whispering?
"Keep smiling and I'll let you and your sister live."
Minnie Makes a 'Friend'
And she was never seen again...
At Least They've Stopped Levitating
So, we tell kids not to talk to strangers, but it's totally fine to talk to strangers adorned in horrific anthropomorphic pig costumes?
Which of these photos creeped you out most?
