As we all know, the Daniel Craig iteration of James Bond can only really get to work after he's had some unlucky - but admittedly sexy - woman's death on his hands. Now, thanks to some tabloid rumors, it seems possible that we might already know whose demise he will lament in the upcoming Bond 24.
According to anonymous sources at The Sunday Mirror, Barbadian singer Rihanna has reportedly been approached for a role in the upcoming sequel to Skyfall. It's currently unclear what role, if any, she could have been offered, but I can totally imagine her filling the traditional 'first act Bond girl' role quite effectively.
The Mirror's source stated:
Rihanna is a big fan of the Bond films and has always loved the idea of appearing in one. She didn't even need to think about it, she knows she wants to do it. She's really excited.
Although a Grammy Award winning singer, Rihanna has started to dabble in acting. You may remember she appeared in 2012's Battleship (although that hardly does a whole lot for her resume), while more recently she played herself in This Is The End (for about 2 minutes). Considering her relative lack of experience, I can't really imagine her fulfilling the main Bond girl role. However, who knows? Maybe she's just waiting for her time to shine?
Let's take a look at some of her previous work.
Battleship certainly showed she can dramatically remove sun glasses:
While also proving she was comfortable with handing weaponry...
Even while riding on a boat...
But perhaps more importantly, she also seems incredibly comfortable with removing her clothes and prancing around, which let's face it, will definitely come in handy as a Bond girl.
