I was still infatuated with Disney at the time when Kingdom Hearts 2 was released. Thus, it was the main drawing point for me at my young age to try out this unusual game, though I quickly fell in love with the combat system and delightful Japanese RPG style. This has been a much loved game by fans of Disney and RPGs alike and the thoughts of another one around the corner is surely exciting us all.

Unfortunately, the horrendous internet lies and slander were nowhere near right when they stated that the game would be released in May 2015. It's scheduled for a late 2016 release and according to Square Enix they are well on track!

Kingdom Hearts is one of Square Enix's earliest achievements, released in their second year as a company, the game was well received when it was brought out for the Game Boy Advance. A year later they would release the widely successful Kingdom Hearts 2 for Playstation 2 and since then the final mix of 2 was released in 2007 and the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded DS game in 2010. But we haven't seen a completely new game for many years.

Kingdom Hearts 3: New Campaign for Sora, Goofy & Donald Duck!

The great friends return in Kingdom Hearts 3!
The great friends return in Kingdom Hearts 3!

The campaign will be led by Sora once again, with the return of his companions Goofy and Donald Duck. Riku and King Mickey shall also return.

Sora, Donald and Goofy will attempt to search for seven guardians of light and the Key to Return Hearts, while King Mickey and Riku search for previous Keyblade wielders, in an attempt to stop Master Xehanort's plan to balance the light and darkness, which may ultimately lead to the final showdown between Sora and Master Xehanort.

Which Disney worlds will feature?

There were recent rumors circulating the web that Disney's recent success Frozen would get its own area in Kingdom Hearts 3, though these have been addressed by the Square Enix team as simply rumors. However, there are so many different areas and films that they could explore that have been released within the last ten years.

Naturally they have far more power at their disposal, therefore the game has great potential to house a plethora of Disney islands with some of Disney's more recent film franchises serving as the theme. Any areas that you guys would like to explore?

Meanwhile, we have the Kingdom Hearts 2 HD remix to look forward to on December 2nd for PS3.
