Angry Birds fans have been rewarded over the last two days by unlocking a unique easter egg. By slinging 1 billion birds, they got a peek at the cast of the new animated Angry Birds movie.

And I have to say, it's pretty impressive. The line up includes Horrible Bosses star Jason Sudeikis as Red, the lead snarky bird. Frozen's Josh Gad plays Chuck, and Danny McBride (This is the End, Eastbound & Down) portrays Bomb.

Maya Rudolph will also feature as Matilda, and Game of Thrones badass Peter Dinklage will play Mighty Eagle. Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Tony Hale (Veep), Hannibal Buress (Broad City, Neighbors), Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), and YouTube stars Smosh will support.

Producer John Cohen commented:

I'm extremely proud of this cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya, and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they're surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent – these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we're thrilled to have them all on board.

With so much comedic talent, Angry Birds is certainly going to be one to watch - and may even pave the way for more feature length adaptations of app gaming. (we may even finally see the long-rumored Temple Run movie)

We'll have to wait to see the finished product though: the movie has yet to begin production, and is slated for release on July 1st, 2016.
